Last Friday I went to get some macaroons (www.jaimelesmacarons.co.nz) to take up to Auckland for some clients on Tuesday. Amanda, who owns the shop, informed me that they are best to eat within four days so best not to buy today. Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays due to baking the macaroons and I was leaving for Auckland at 6.55 a.m. Tuesday. No problem, she invites me to the kitchen where they bake on Monday to pick some fresh ones up. I arrive and collect my macaroons at the kitchen (and survey the fascinating process), and leave thinking, "What great service, and what a great product."
